Slieve Aughty Riding Centre

Welcome to Slieve Aughty Riding Centre! Our rules are compiled for the safety of customers, staff and horses. Take your time to familiarize yourself with them, don´t hesitate to contact the staff if any questions should arise.

CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES!!!

1. Please take notice of the opening hours of the stable. During the open hours staff are available to help you. Outside of these hours the stables are closed to the public.

2. No running or screaming in the yard. Calm and composed behaviour is essential around horses. Horses are flight animals that can spook at sudden movements and loud noises.

3. It is not allowed to enter the stables, arena, paddocks or fields without permission.

Dogs should be on the leash while visiting the stables, it is important for dogs own safety.

4. Do not feed the horses or ponies, even treats. Feeding is planned carefully for each horse individually. Hand feeding creates bad habits in our horses and ponies and is not allowed.

5. Every horse has it´s own fitted tack. Return any tack to the right place so it is not used on the wrong horse. Expensive equipment lying on the floor can get broken or cause danger if tangled at the feet of horses or human. Remember that a horse may not be left unattended in a box with the tack on. NEVER TIE A HORSE BY THE BIT. You can place a halter on top of the bridle and after that fasten the horse according to instructions. If you do not know what to do ask a staff member for assistance.

6. No open toed shoes (flip flops, crocs, sandals, etc) are allowed in the yard. Long trousers must be worn for horse riding (no shorts or skirts) All riders must wear a boot with a small heel.
