Some booking information that is useful to familiarise yourself with:
Please note, all bookings and cancellations are handled by Hopoti. Please do not email us your cancellations as we cannot award you make-up lessons if you have not cancelled on time. We operate this strict policy as it ensures all of our riders equal and fair access to make-up slots, which benefits everyone.
If you cannot attend a lesson - you can go into your account and cancel your participation for the lesson you cannot attend. Once you do this within our cancellation policy notice period (48 hours), the system will give you a stable credit that you can use to book a make-up slot at another time that suits you. Please ensure you book make-up lessons at your level.
Please note that we operate a rider weight limit for each individual horse and pony in our stable. Max carrying capacity can be found on each individual horse's Hopoti profile. For this reason, riders must keep their weight information up to date on Hopoti. Any rider, at any time, may be asked to verify their weight. This policy is based solely on protecting the long-term welfare and soundness of our horses.
A commonly used guide for carrying capacity: a horse should carry no more than 15% of its own body weight. For example, a 600kg horse would have a total carrying capacity of approximately 90kg. However, this total includes not just the rider, but also the saddle, girth, saddle pad, stirrups, hat, boots, body protector, and all other rider equipment. Once tack and equipment are included, the amount available for the rider alone is reduced further.
The stable code is compiled for the safety of customers, staff and horses. Take your time to familiarize yourself with the code, don´t hesitate to contact the staff if any questions should arise.
1. Please take notice of the opening hours of the stable. During the open hours the staff is at the stable to help you. Information you get from the staff is essential for everybody's safety.
2. Calm and composed behaviour is essential around horses. Horses are flight animals that can spook at sudden movements and loud noises.
3. Please arrive on time for your lesson. Riders are not permitted to join a lesson if more than 10 minutes late, as it disrupts the lesson for all other riders.
4. For safety reasons:
Please ensure you wear an up to standard riding hat while mounted (details of current safety standards can be found on the AIRE website)
Please ensure you zip up all jackets/coats/jumpers while mounted.
Please ensure all hair is tied up neatly while mounted.
Please ensure you do not wear any dangling earrings while mounted, or any bulky or long jewellery of any kind.
If you wear fake nails, please ensure you wear gloves while riding, as long nails can get caught in the horse's mane.
5. Our team of staff know our horses and our surroundings very well, please ensure you follow their instructions at all times.
6. It is not allowed to enter the stable yard without permission. Entering the paddocks and pastures is also prohibited without permission. Dogs should be on the leash while visiting the stables, it is important for your dog's own safety.
7. Feeding is carefully planned for each individual horse. Feeding them any extra treats, could risk their health, which is why you should not feed our horses. Many stables welcome carrots and apples, but please ask the staff for details.
8. Every horse has it's own carefully fitted tack. Store the tack back in the right place, so that it is not used on the wrong horse. Expensive equipment left lying on the floor can get broken or cause danger if tangled at the feet of horses or humans. Please ask the staff for additional information if needed.
9. While walking the horses in hand to/from the arena, please wear the appropriate hat & gloves. Do not wrap the rope or reins around your hand. Shoes/boots worn at the stable should be sturdy.
10. While handling the horses, be aware of your surroundings and try to anticipate and avoid situations that may cause danger to yourself, the horse or others. Ask questions without hesitation or prejudice, attend courses, trainings and events organized by your stable in order to learn more about horses and handling of horses.
